Your portrait will be a Timeless Moment for you to enjoy for all time. With careful planning of your clothing you can enjoy the success of a beautiful portrait.
Clothing choices for your Portrait:
Turtle Necks
or V-necks are flattering. Make sure they aren’t too bulky or deep.
Long sleeves
make nice cover for arms, which can be distracting in a portrait.
If Full-length poses are being done
with a woman, it is complimentary to her if she has on long pants, skirts or
dark stockings that keeps the attention towards the face. Her shoes if showing
should be in the same tone.
Men should be
clean shaven and facial hair groomed.
Women should
be photographed whenever they are happiest with their hair.
Most glasses glare! Please remove the glass or check with your optometrist. Most will "loan" you an empty set of frames similar to yours for your photo session. This is the most effective way to improve your portraits. We will not be responsible for glass glare in a portrait or the cost to remove it.
When
more than one person appears in a portrait the clothing choices can either make
or break the portrait.
Clothing Small Groups
Small
groups or couples should choose clothing of simple design and within the same
color tone. When clients wear light and dark toned clothing in the same
portrait, it makes the photo visually confusing. It may make one person appear
dominant and heavier than the other person.
Family
clothing coordination is critical. Choose clothing in the same tonal range that
is not too light or bright.
Long sleeve
clothing in medium to dark tones works well for an adult portrait.
Create
a timeless look by using white and pastel colors for an infant or small child.
Keep away from Bright colors, stripes, plaids and patterns, which over power a
child in a portrait.
